The Apprentice: New Celebrity Version

When Donald Trump’s The Apprentice returns to NBC for its seventh season, the show will have somewhat of a different look. The feisty business mogul has come up with a celebrity version of the popular high stakes reality show.

The Apprentice was originally designed to pit young, enterprising men and women against each other for a shot at a dream $250,000 job, managing one of Donald Trump’s many lucrative companies. In the upcoming twist, celebrities will compete against each other while raising money for various charities.

As in previous Apprentice seasons, the celebrity contestants will have to work as teams assigned to specific projects each week. They will then have to face host and executive producer, Donald Trump, in the boardroom, to make their recommendations on who he must fire from the opposing team.

Last season’s The Apprentice: Los Angeles raked in 7.5 million viewers and the addition of the celebrity flavor to the show is expected to equal, if not, surpass those numbers. Participating celebrities will be revealed at a later date.

NBC Co-chairman, Ben Silverman is clearly thrilled about the new concept of the show. "It's always good to be in business with Mark Burnett and Donald Trump. I am so excited to offer viewers what promises to be the most explosive version of The Apprentice that anyone has seen," Silverman said.

For his part, Donald Trump said "The success of The Apprentice has been a great experience for me. I look forward to working with Ben, NBC and Mark - the best team in television. I believe that celebrity Apprentice will bring our wonderful show to new heights."

Both Donald Trump and his daughter, Ivanka, are expected to return for a number of episodes in their usual capacity as boardroom advisers. The Apprentice is a collaboration of Mark Burnett Productions and Trump Productions LLC.
